Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Korea - British Navy Ready - Battle Line Close-Up. DESCRIPTION: Admiral Sir Philip Vian (Commander-in-Chief, Home Fleet) addresses the company on board Theseus, about to leave for Korea. HMS Warrior is seen prior to leaving for Korea also. In Korea, GIs engage enemy snipers in the hills. In a battle-line close up, a patrol advances on a strategic road and the enemy registers - a near miss. Official pictures taken during a raid on the communist held Port of Inchon are the best evidence of success. Factories and installations are hit and fuel storage tanks go up in flame and smoke. SHOTLIST: KS. Sailors up gangway of "Theseus". Elevated GV sailors going aboard aircraft carrier. Sailors report on board (Portsmouth) - interior shots reporting to petty officer. On flight deck of "Theseus" Admiral Vian addresses officers and men. shots of "Theseus" under way, leaving Portsmouth. Crew walk along deck. In Korea - Groups GIs in hilly country. GIs crawling along roadways & hills, several shots. Sniping, GV of North Korean dead. GIs approach wrecked US tank. GVs of artillery pounding distant hills. Patrol advances along road. Men run for trench as explosion occurs near at hand. Aerials (blown-up) aircraft shooting-up Port of Inchon, factories hit & fuel tanks going up in dense smoke. Good Scenes - Sailor leaving for Korea - climbing gangway boarding aircraft carrier "Theseus", carrying their hammocks. MS, GV & LS "Theseus".
