Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Korea - Strafing Ground Targets. DESCRIPTION: Reinforcements arrive at an unnamed port in South Korea. They move up to the front under the command of General Walker, with General Dean (later posted as missing). Official American war pictures show one of the first heavy strikes by B29s against North Korean communications and establishments. After the big bombers had done their job, their navy escort fighters shot up an airfield, catching at least one Russian-built plane on the ground. At the front-line outpost, a United Nations delegation question prisoners, meanwhile, determination to halt aggression is again expressed by President Truman. SHOTLIST: KS. MS GIs off LCI onto beach into camera. Several shots of GIs off LCIs & marching along beaches. CU Generals Walker (left) & Dean. Walker getting into jeep. Troops on the march along roadways. Tanks passing along roads. Mix to flying shots Superfortresses in flight. Pilot at seat. CU bomb in rack & ‘bombs away’. CU bomb landing on target - roadway edged by forests seen through bomb hatch. Flying shot shooting up in the airfield & airplanes, tracers bullets hitting plane. Infantry digging slit trenches. Artillery firing - several shots. United Nations delegates interrogate prisoners. CU band on arm "United Nations". CU Truman, SCU Truman - very serious. Truman speaking.
