Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Army Day. DESCRIPTION: Marching from Wellington Barracks to Hyde Park, a parade of three thousand marked this year’s Army Day. As last year, some women tried to demonstrate with peace placards. In Hyde Park, Field Marshal Sir William Slim took the salute. SHOTLIST: KS. Troops marching, Queen Victoria Memorial in background & Buckingham Palace (Guards). Trucking shots of the Guards marching from Wellington Barracks to Hyde Park. Guards enter Park. Marchpast - Sir William Slim takes salute. Brigade of Guards leads column. Several sound shots of music played by the Royal Guards. Detachment of WRAC. Sandhurst Cadets in column. Several shots of the marchpast. Cut-ins of women with placards "Peace" try to stop Guards marching, police intervened & stop women.
