MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: India Celebrates Republic Day. DESCRIPTION: The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr Soekano was greeted by Mr Nehru when he arrived at New Delhi to take part in the celebrations. Mr Rajagopalacharya, India’s last Governor-General, handed over his office and gave place to the President, Dr Rajendra Prasad. SHOTLIST: KS. Indonesian plane taxies. Dr Sukano alights, embraces Nehru. Interior - procession through crowded church to platform. Rajagopalacharya, walks from his seat given same to Prasad. SCU Prasad sitting down. Exterior - Prasad rides in open landau through crowded streets, acknowledging. At Irwin Stadium, inspects parade. RIAF planes fly over in formation. Naval & army units marchpast rostrum where Prasad takes salute.
