Dingaan’s Day commemorates the defeat by the trekkers of part of Dingann, the Zulu Chief’s Army in 1838. SHOTLIST: KS. LS Voortrekker Monument. South Africans on horseback ride through town towards the monument. Various shots of the monument & CU parts of the monument. GV - scenic showing countryside with monument. Various GVs crowds assembling. Cut-in CU types of Africans, wearing beards. GV amphitheatre, packed to capacity. Dr Malan & Smuts address crowd (silent). GV & MS folk dancing by the hundred.
