Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: World’s Dancing Championships (Sunday Dispatch). DESCRIPTION: At the Empress Hall, Earls Court, in the Sunday Dispatch Ballroom Contest teams competed for the European Formation Trophy. This event was won by a team from Blackpool. In the professional couples competition Violet Barnes and Wally Fryer took the first prize which was presented to them by Valerie Hobson. SHOTLIST: KS. Elevated GV of couples dancing (x2). Various shots of teams competing for European Formation Trophy. Couples compete in finals. Violet Barnes & Wally Fryer are the winners, shots of them dancing slow foxtrot & others. Couple receive cheque for £500, from Valerie Hobson.
