MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Daily Express Film Ball. DESCRIPTION: The Royal Albert Hall was packed to capacity with film fans for the Daily Express film ball. The event was held in aid of the Cinema Trade Benevolent Fund and the highlight was when Gracie Fields sang. SHOTLIST: KS. MS mannequins on stage. Elevated GV crowds dancing (ballroom) - several shots. Several shots fashion parade - elevated & ground shots. MS Gracie Fields in box. Men’s braces lowered from one box to another. Jane Wyman on receiving end, attached to braces are programmes for autographs. CU Googie Withers. SCU Withers & Ben Lyon, the latter gets autograph. SCU Richard Widmark, Jack Warner, & Richard Attenborough signing a dollar bill. Elevated GV ballroom dancing. SCU Jane Russell with Jane Wyman & Richard Todd. Jimmy Hanley dancing with Rene Asherson. Gracie Fields on stage. Tells people to sit down. Shots of her singing "You made me love you". Audience applauding.
