- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Trooping the Colour. DESCRIPTION: For the first time since 1939 the Brigade of Guards wear full dress uniform at the Trooping the Colour Ceremony in honour of the King’s official birthday. His Majesty travelled in a landau on the advice of doctors following his recent operation. SHOTLIST: KS. GV Guards paraded on Horse Guards Parade. Elevated GV arrival in landau of Queen Elizabeth & Princess Margaret. Household Cavalry arrive. King in landau leads his troops onto parade ground. Immediately followed by Princess Elizabeth & Duke of Gloucester on horseback. Elevated MS Princess & Duke. King stands in landau & salutes. Still in carriage the King inspects the guards. Cut-in of crowds. CU Slim watching parade, children & adults use mirrors, periscope etc. to see marching. Cut-in of Royal Family, Duchess of Gloucester & sons, the Queen, Queen Mary, Princess Margaret with Princess Royal watching from Government windows. Elevated GV King mounts rostrum. Guards counter marching. Various shots of counter marching to "Stars & Stripes". King stands up on rostrum. Cut-in SCU Princess & Duke. Colours presented from guard to guard. Trooping the Colour - slow march through the ranks - various angles. SCU Guards present arms. Elevated GV slow march, elevated GV & various shots. Marchpast at quick march speed cut-in King saluting. King in landau leads guards off parade ground. Into camera band down the Mall - 2 scenes. Marchpast troops past Buckingham Palace. Cut-in King on rostrum saluting. Buckingham Palace balcony shows Queen & Royal members watching. Crowds rush across road. King bareheaded comes out on balcony joins rest of Royal Family - Queen Elizabeth, Princess Margaret, Duchess of Gloucester, with her two sons, Prince Michael & Princess Marie Louise and Queen Mary.
