Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Wolves Win FA Cup Final. DESCRIPTION: At Wembley, about 100,000 people saw Wolves beat Leicester City by three goals to one. Before the game the crowd joined in the community singing. The two teams were presented to the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duke of Gloucester. At the end Billy Wright, the Wolves Captain, received the FA Cup from Princess Elizabeth. SHOTLIST: KS. SCU FA Cup. GV cheering & waving crowds inside stadium. Crowds sing "Land of Hope and Glory" (part). Teams walk onto field side by side. Crowds wave and cheer. Duke of Gloucester and Duke of Edinburgh walk on. Presented to teams. Billy Wright is Captain of Wolves and Norman Plummer Captain of Leicester. Shaking hands with Stanley Cullis. Toss-up - Leicester win. CU ball on the centre spot, cut to just after kick-off GV. Wolves attack. Gordon Bradley makes several saves. Johnny Hancocks runs down wing with ball, centres to Jesse Pye who heads same into net. Crowds cheer. Royal Box applaud, in the same is Princess Elizabeth. Slow motion - into camera - Bradley knocks ball just over top of goal. Elevated GV of attack round Leicester’s goal & Pye kicks ball into net after it has hit post & rebounded back to him. Crowds cut-in. SCU Bevin smoking a cigar. Leicester kick-off second half. Leicester attack. Jack Lee shoots at Wolves goal, Mal Griffiths on goal line heads ball into own goal, in trying to save. Slow motion same thing in slow motion. Leicester now attack hard & GV elevated shot, Leicester (Ken Chisholm) beats Williams, the goalie, but referee gives off-side. Various SCU watching, some happy, others glum & miserable. Elevated GV Sammy Smyth dribbles ball past several opponents & nets for Wolves. Wright receives Cup from Princess Elizabeth. Wright speaks for BMN. Wright with Cup carried off field.
