Summary

The Eighth Army enters Bologna and receives a huge welcome from the Italians. May 3rd: representatives of Supreme Allied Command in the Mediterranean meet the representatives (in civilian clothes) of the Wehrmacht in Italy. Field Marshal Alexander officiates. US NATIONAL ARCHIVE ENTRY: 10 min sd, B&W, 35 mm Part 2 Civilians cheer as allied troops enter Bologna, Italy. General Alexander receives the surrender of German troops in Italy.
