Summary
Six hundred ships and a quarter of a million men converge on Leyte Island. Naval guns open fire. Landings of Americans and Australians. Gaining the beach head. Japanese tank barriers. Guerilla Philippinos assist Allies. Aerial shots of beach head. German [sic] dead. Shots of Lieutenant General Krueger and General MacArthur. Troops advance to the town of Palo, where they find good roads and conditions in the town. Philippino refugees return home. At the provincial capital of Leyte, General MacArthur addresses the people - cheering crowds. The battle goes on.
