MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Year & Hogmanay. DESCRIPTION: Library material. Scenes of festivities in Scotland, Piccadilly Circus, the Chelsea Arts Ball and the various places that people are likely to see the new year in. SHOTLIST: KS MS mantelpiece clock. GV balloons falling from roof of Royal Albert Hall. Various shots of same. Elevated GV (night) crowds in Piccadilly Circus, taxi tries to get through, people scramble over same. Child walks up stairs with teddy bear. Child in bed asleep. Workmen at night using pneumatic drills on road. Working on switch gears on trams. Working at the forge, at the lathe. Old Scots woman knitting. Interior - hospital ward, patients sitting up and celebrating. CU clock. Silhouette person enters church at night. Crowds in streets wave (all night material). SCU wrist watch being looked at. Group walk towards door & knock. Shot from inside house, people enter. People drinking & dancing. Person plays the piano, stand around piano singing. Workmen at forge shake hands. Official at railway station shakes hands with another official. Inside hospital, celebrating goes on. Drinking etc. CU sign Guid New Year. Interior - Royal Albert Hall.
