- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Evening News Toys for Hospitals. DESCRIPTION: Toys handed in by readers, being repaired, painted etc. and sent on to hospitals. The above shows work in the Evening News building. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Stock of toys. Ventriloquist’s doll puts head round corner. Pan stacks of toys. Workers of paper, mending, painting and repairing toys. Exterior - Evening News van drives up, driver jumps out & enters building. Interior walks over to toy motor & starts to paint same. Compositor bangs down type, mix to him banging toy together. Cartoonist Gittins painting mix to him painting a toy. Lord Rothermere & Mr Guy Schofield (and Arthur Fuller) walk through avenue of toys, inspecting same. Ventriloquist’s doll & Mr Schofield say a few words about the presents from various readers of the Evening News.
