Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: State Opening of Parliament. DESCRIPTION: The pre-war pageantry returned to the streets of London for the State Opening of Parliament. Their Majesties rode to Parliament in the Irish State Coach with full ceremonial. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Crowds with Big Ben in background. Various crowd shots. GV Whitehall lined with brigade of Guards. MS Yeoman of the Guard leave the House. Several shots of Household Cavalry being brushed down and last minute inspections. Into camera - Crown arrives at House by Royal coach. Crown, sword etc. being carried from coach. Into camera Irish State Coach carrying King & Queen leaves Buckingham Palace. Pan with it round Queen Victoria Memorial. Procession out of Horse Guards Parade into Whitehall, out of camera up Whitehall. Cut-in Guards at the present (wearing bearskins). Royal coach passing, Guards present arms, God Save the King struck up as King passes. Irish State Coach swings into House. SLS King & Queen alighting & entering the House.
