MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Holland Celebrates. DESCRIPTION: Holland celebrates the birthday of Queen Wilhelmina and also the 50th anniversary of her coronation. The Queen received a great ovation when she drove through the streets of Amsterdam. SHOTLIST: KS GV New Church. Gaily decorated streets, with bunting etc. Trucking shot through gaily decorated streets. Decorated maypole. Night illuminations - maypole covered with fairy lights. Churches, towers, buildings, canals, bridges etc. lined with fairy lights (very good). Elevated GV Queen Wilhelmina drives through city, arrives at the Dam. (This was Wilhelmina’s birthday & 50th anniversary of her coronation.) LS Queen Wilhelmina alighting from carriage, inspects Guard of Honour. Cut-in Princess Marijke waves from window above. MS inspection being carried out. Queen Wilhelmina enters palace door, greeted by Juliana, Bernhard and Princesses Beatrix, Irene and Margriet. Elevated pan of thousands children, crowds outside palace. Queen Wilhelmina on balcony with Juliana, Bernhard & Beatrix. Pan of crowds in Dam singing Dutch National Hymn. SCU Queen Wilhelmina on balcony waves - very good. Elevated GV crowds waving frantically, very good material.
