- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Close of the Olympic Games. DESCRIPTION: The cycling marathon was started at Windsor by the Duke of Edinburgh. The last event of the Games was the show jumping at Wembley which was followed by the Closing Ceremony. SHOTLIST: KS Elevated GV Wembley Stadium. Windsor - cyclist ready for start of cycling marathon. Duke of Edinburgh fires pistol to start race, cyclists off, several shots of greasy & wet roads. CU cyclists flashing past camera. Several spills, two cyclists argue over accident, judges arrive in Rolls Royce & part same. Wembley - GV crowds. Several shots of Prix des nations show jumping competition. Various shots of horses jumping hurdles etc. GV crowds. Elevated GV flags of all nations being marched onto arena. Several shots flags grouped round tribune of honour, Sigfrid Edstrom (President of the Games) addresses gathering. SCU Olympic flag. SCU flame flickering & GV of same (flame does not go right out). Cut-in Royal Box shows Duke of Edinburgh, Duchess of Kent & Princess Alexandra. Olympic flag hauled down to tune of Londonderry Air & marched off arena. GV Wembley Stadium, with Olympic symbol in background. Elevated GV of flag carried off & fade out to finish.
