MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: My Love Wins the Derby. DESCRIPTION: Movietone shows you in all its picturesque detail the running of the world’s Greatest Classic. My Love, storms past the field in the straight and wins by a length and a half. SHOTLIST: KS Library - panning of horses racing in 1947 Derby, crowds on rails in fore. GV The Hill with grandstand in background. GV course taken from The Hill. GV course taken from grandstand the latter in the fore. GV crowds each side of rails on the straight, camera pans over The Hill. GV crowds. Elevated shot car parks. Elevated shot crowds and cars winding their way to course. GV The Hill. SCU Prince Monolulu, shouting I got a horse. MS one man band. SCU type selling fish in paper. SCU bookie, shouting the odds. SCU type dancing to crowd. SCU type playing a concertina. Trucking shots back of grandstand, crowds outside. Elevated arrival of Royal car. King alights & shakes hands with Lord Rosebery and Duke of Norfolk. Queen alights and ditto. CU Duke of Edinburgh walking to paddock. GV paddock. Gordon Richards on the Cobbler. GV grandstand. Parade of horses, Djeddah prances about, jockey trying to keep him under control. Horses pass camera showing their numbers No 4 Jacobite, No 5 Prince Hardi, No 6 Hope Street, No 7 Julian, No 8 Tarka, No 9 Speciality, No 10 Blue Falls, No 11 Black Pampas, No 12. City of Russia, No 1 My Babu. Cut-in crowds leaning on rails. More of Parade No 17 My Love, No 18 Henley-in-Arden, No 19 The Cobbler. Elevated GV course. MS Royal Box, shows Princess Elizabeth with programme, places same in Duke’s hand while has his back to her. Slightly elevated shot of start panning towards camera, past and out of camera. Elevated horses go out into country, into camera, horses down Tattenham Hill, rounding Tattenham Corner. Tormie takes over lead from Royal Drake. Horses up straight, My Love begins to move up from about eighth position. Cut-into slow motion of My Love overtaking Royal Drake and going on to win, passing winning post. Cut-in back view Princess Elizabeth and Duke of Edinburgh looking down course. My Love being led in by Aga Khan. CU Aga Khan holding reins of horse. MS My Love in unsaddling enclosure. CU head of My Love to finish.
