- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Lincolnshire Handicap. DESCRIPTION: The first race of the Flat Season, the Lincolnshire Handicap, is won by Commissar. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Horses wear saddle-cloths walk along road out of camera. GV course with bookies in fore and grandstand in background. Horses parade in paddock. Horses canter to starting post. Elevated No 5 ‘Clarion III’ cantering along. CU semi SV horses lined up for start. SCU Captain Chandos-Pole presses down lever to start race and GV elevated pan horses gallop off at start of race. Slow motion panning shot of horses, scratch down centre of image. Normal speed, trucking shot of horses galloping along course. Panning ‘Commissar’ and ‘Clarion III’ lead field. ‘Commissar’ (ridden by Billy Rickaby) takes lead and past winning post, ‘Clarion’ 2nd, ‘Flexton’ 3rd. ‘Commissar’ escorted to unsaddling enclosure by mounted policeman. Elevated horses line up to get into unsaddling enclosure.
