MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Attacker Breaks Air Speed Record. DESCRIPTION: The Air Speed Record goes again when Mr Lithgow in an Attacker jet aircraft goes to 560.6 miles per hour. SHOTLIST: KS MS wings and nose of plane. MS whole of the plane. SCU tail of plane, panning to jet outlet. Mr Lithgow climbs into cockpit, assistant straps him in. MS seated in cockpit. Attacker (Vickers jet fighter) taxies and takes-off, panning. LS Verey lights being fired on aerodrome. LS plane coming into camera, out of clouds and almost over camera. LS Verey lights being fired on aerodrome. Attacker taxies after landing. MS Lithgow out of cockpit. SCU climbs down outside of cockpit. SCU Lithgow speaking says Well, we had quite a good run, we hoped to get a slightly better figure, but the unfortunate is visibility was rather poor and the air very bumpy, which I expect it took about 10 mph or so off our speed.
