- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Christmas Gift From Norway. DESCRIPTION: It was decided to place the large fir tree, a gift from Norway, in Trafalgar Square. SHOTLIST: KS GV SS Borgholm at quayside. Cut-in of Norwegian flag. GV of ship with tree being lifted off deck. The above is at Deptford. At Trafalgar Square, tilt down of Nelson’s Column to Christmas tree. Various shots of same, children standing around, men placing tree in position and shovelling earth into hole. Norwegian Ambassador arrives mounts platform, gives short speech about Norway and Britain. Cut-in of children including Norwegian girls listening. Ambassador switches on lights of tree. Night shots of tree lit up with fairy lights.
