MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Tube Extension - Central Line. DESCRIPTION: The new extension of the Central Line from Leytonstone to Newbury Park and Woodford has been opened. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Wanstead station. Lord Latham, Mr and Mrs Barnes down escalator. MS Lord Latham says a few words about the railway. Mr Barnes steps forward to open railway. CU key being inserted into lock. SCU gate opening (electrically). Slight elevated shot of Underground train running out of platform (in sound). Inside train, Lord Latham, Barnes family seated in same. Cut-ins of tunnel (camera on front of train) as it speeds through, shot of roof of the tunnel as train speeds through. Cut-in of Miss Barnes in driver’s cabin, controlling speed of train. THIS IS VERY GOOD UNDERGROUND TRAIN MATERIAL.
