MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Sport - Kentucky Derby. DESCRIPTION: ‘Jet Pilot’ set the pace most of the way to become the winner of the Kentucky Derby. SHOTLIST: KS GV Churchill Downs grandstand. Name of race etc. on entrance. Crowds of spectators gathered. Women in grandstand drink mineral waters. CU young lady looking from window through field glasses. GV of racecourse in glorious sunshine. GV starting gate, one horse breaks out throws his jockey, stewards race down course, retrieve horse named ‘Jett-Jett’. GV of horses at starting post again and the off, No 11 ‘Jet Pilot’ goes straight to the front, MS of same in lead. Horses come into camera as they approach bend. MS battery of film cameramen. LS of horses going along back stretch. Slow motion - horses come up straight to finish No 11 just winning by a head, with ‘Phalanx’ and ‘Faultless’ second and third respectively.
