MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Tour - Visit to Table Mountain and Departure. DESCRIPTION: As the Royal Tour draws to a close the Royal Family ascend Table Mountain by cable car. Farewells having been said they then received a rousing send off as Vanguard sailed. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Elevated shots from cable car of surrounding mountains as it journeys up Table Mountain. Various shots of cable cars ascending and shadow of cable on mountain side. CU of Princess Margaret looking at scenery from cable car. GV of Capetown almost covered in mist as seen from top of Table Mountain. Field Marshal Smuts, in mountaineering dress greets the Queen, MS of both. King and Queen walk along track (King in civvies), good view of Smuts (with one of the Queen’s feathers in his hat) with the King and Queen. Elevated shot very good of the bay of Capetown, enveloped in mist, SCU Smuts holding up his hat showing the Queen’s feather. Shows flags only looking from the bows. Shot of ship. GV of crowds on quay, Royal Family wave, crowds rush forward, Vanguard pulls away as crowds sing Will Ye No Come Back Again.
