Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Wives and Children Evacuate Palestine. DESCRIPTION: Barbed wire barricades have increased in number on the streets of Jerusalem. British non essential civilians have been evacuated from Palestine as the tension grows. SHOTLIST: KS CU Major Collins in bed, eye covered over. CU ditto. Troops lay barbed wire entanglements in streets. Troops check up identities, people alight from bus and being checked. Troops officer arrives by car and checks identity of troops. Children being evacuated, leaving their school, boarding buses. Wife and soldier husband pack their belongings onto lorry. Evacuees packing their belongings in cases, cat sitting in case. Evacuees arrive at camp for transhipment to England.
