MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Monty in Moscow. DESCRIPTION: Field Marshal Montgomery was shown some of the ancient buildings of Moscow and attended the ballet. He then met Stalin and they posed for the cameras. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS GV Kremlin. Several angle shots of Russian buildings including cathedrals, Arkhangelsk, Blagoveshchensky and Uspensky. Monty escorted by Russian officers inspects Tsar gun. Monty with Russian officers inspects walking through streets of Moscow. At the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre, interior shot of Monty, Marshals Vasilevsky, Koniev and Sokolovsky, also Sir Maurice Peterson (British Ambassador). Cut-in of part of ballet Romeo and Juliet by Prokoviev, end of act, the above applauding. Those performing are Galina Ulanova and Mikhail Gabovich. The above party enters Kremlin, Monty in full dress uniform with fur coat over same. Interior - Monty with party mounts stairs. Interior shots of palace shows marvellous architecture. MS of chandeliers GV conference room, GV Georgievsk Hall. Monty walks forward with hand outstretched, greeted by high official. Monty and Stalin walk towards seat out of camera in full dress uniform. MS Monty in Russian outfit with Stalin. CU Monty and Stalin, till the end of story Monty is dressed in Russian outfit. CU Stalin. MS Monty and Stalin who are joined by Vasilevsky, Molotov and Peterson, slow pan to right. Exterior Monty alights from car, at aerodrome, Moscow Central. Monty inspects Russian Guard of Honour their bayonets bared. Marchpast past of Russian Guard of Honour. CU Monty saluting to finish.
