MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: General Eisenhower at Edinburgh. DESCRIPTION: During his visit to Edinburgh General Eisenhower attended the christening of Lord and Lady Tedder’s son. In the Usher Hall he was presented with the Freedom of the City. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS GV Edinburgh Castle. Eisenhower placing wreath on National Shrine at the Castle. Shot of the keep. At the castle chapel; Eisenhower and Mrs Eisenhower with Lord and Lady Tedder after the christening of their son Richard Seton Tedder. Scenic shots of Edinburgh as seen from the castle ramparts, pan of same. Ground shot of crowds surging round Ike’s car at the Scottish/American War memorial, Ike arriving at same, inspects Guard of Honour of British Legion. Lays wreath. CU memorial. Cut-ins of crowds. Leaving memorial. Inside Usher Hall. GV audience. Lord Provost (Sir John Falconer) greets Eisenhower, paying tribute to him. Presents him with casket, Ike signs Burgess Roll, applauses by audience Ike stands, addresses audience, thanking them etc. Cut-ins of Mrs Eisenhower, Lord Provost and Lady Falconer, finishing on applause.
