Wallace seated at desk states the following The President has requested by resignation, I have therefore sent him this letter, Dear Harry, as you have requested my resignation, I therefore send same. I will however continue to fight for peace, hoping you will back me on same etc. etc. Still seated at desk he attaches his signature to resignation, throwing same into outgoing tray.
