MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King David Hotel Blown Up. DESCRIPTION: The problems of Palestine continue and the recent bombing of the King David Hotel resulted in 65 deaths, 58 missing and 50 others injured. The hotel housed the British Army headquarters and the Palestine Government Offices. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Library - frame. LS of Jerusalem. Elevated shots of city. Shots of old city. Sellers in streets consisting of Arabs & Jews selling their wares. Street scenes of old city, Jews at Wailing Wall, several shots. Various shots of modern city, donkeys carry loads through streets. More modern shots of city. Elevated pan of King David Hotel before being blown-up. Faked explosion. (N Fisher - various elevated shots of ruined West wing of hotel). Removing debris, crane at work on same. British troops clear debris. Smashed typewriters. MS & CU human hands sticking out of debris. British troops stripped, some of them to the waist carry out corpse. GV Union Jack flying at half mast.
