- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Zero Hour at Bikini. Operation Crossroads. DESCRIPTION: The preparations are being completed for the explosion of another atom bomb. The disused ships are put in place and the aircraft loaded with the single missile. SHOTLIST: KS Admiral Blandy walks into camera. General shots of Admiral Blandy. GV tower with cameras etc. installed on same. Blandy climbs to top of tower. Blandy looks at model of lagoon (Bikini Atoll) and models of ships in lagoon. Aboard battleship USS Nevada, hitting anchor chain with hammer, dropping anchor, anchor drops into water. Below deck of ship, members of crew, close valves, pull over switches etc. SV Super Fortress (B29). CU Major Swancutt (pilot) beside plane. CU Bombardier Major Wood beside plane. CU nose of plane. Super Fort takes off, in flight. GV Flagship USS Mount McKinley. Aerial shot of carrier USS Shangri-la with robot planes on deck, also one flying over carrier. Interior - cameraman at side of plane, taking photos through windows. Aerial of cloud rising from explosion of atom bomb - this is a still.
