- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: War Leaders Honoured. DESCRIPTION: Lord Tedder is the latest of our war leaders to receive the Freedom of the City of London. Whilst in Canada the new Governor General, Lord Alexander, received a Doctor of Laws Degree. SHOTLIST: RAF Guard of Honour march into camera outside Guildhall with fixed bayonets. Tedder arrives in landau. Field Marshal Smuts and Averill Harriman outside Guildhall. Lord Tedder with the Lord Mayor (Sir Charles Davies). CU interior - City of London symbol. Lord Mayor presents Sword of Honour to Tedder. Tedder signs Book of Fame, Tedder leaves, enters landau and drives through streets. In Toronto - Governor General Lord Alexander walks through grounds of McGill University in cap and gown, with him is Lady Alexander. MS being presented with Doctor of Law. MS of Canadian soldiers. Alexander presents medals to Canadian soldiers of the McGill University. Elevated shot of Alexander in top hat and morning dress arriving at City Hall. Inspects Guard of Honour. Lays wreath on Toronto War Memorial.
