MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Spring Song. DESCRIPTION: Spring is here, the trees are in blossom and we can once again enjoy the countryside. Some evidence of war time precautions still lie at the sides of our roads. In Edwardian times bicycles were very popular and even the ladies made outings on them. SHOTLIST: KS girl walks into camera over hill. Ditto. MS girls riding along country road, tank traps on sides of road, country lane with barbed wire in fore. Girl walks along country lane, barbed wire in fore. Girl runs down hill, looks out across country at scenery. GV countryside. Tilt down to lake. SCU & CU apple blossom. MS apple blossom tree. GV country cottage, trees in fore. MS daffodils. GV country church with trees in fore. Several shots of two lambs on grass, and Norman Fisher seated on grass eating and throwing away paper covering. CU paper on grass. GV road ahead as seen from driver’s seat. LIBRARY: Back to Edwardian age, various shots women in skirts down to their ankles riding bikes, also men. Various shots of girl demonstrating in field on bicycles. Several shots of race, some competitors on "penny farthing" bikes others on modern bicycle. MS winner holding bike.
