Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Japs Say Enough. DESCRIPTION: It was many years ago that the Japanese, marching into Manchuria and into China, began what they thought would be the conquest of Asia and then of the whole world. Then came the attack on Pearl Harbour and America’s entry into the war. After the Potsdam ultimatum and the Atom Bomb Japan has had enough. As news spread in London that the war was nearing it’s end, some celebrations began. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Three Allied flags, Union Jack, Stars & Stripes & Russian flag. Jap cavalry along road, also mules, carts etc. Jap infantry on the march. Bomb fall in sea on Panay. Panay burning, various shots of fires, hundreds of people gathered in streets. Jap representative in America (Mr Kurusu), out of building, stops on steps, crowds round him. CU of him speaking "my position is very delicate, but hope that relations between America and Japan will remain in good stead". Various shots of attack on Pearl Harbour, hangars burning, battleship sunk & superstructure aflame, etc. Inside Congress, Roosevelt addresses "Dec. 7th 1941 will go down in infamy". CU Jap soldier. Japs training, cavalry along carrying flags, lying on ground awaiting orders to charge, infantry charging, also cavalry. Artillery firing large guns. CU Jap girls kneeling on ground bowing their heads. Several shots of Emperor on white horse inspecting Jap troops. Dead Japs lying about beaches. CU Roosevelt. CU Churchill. CU Stalin. CU Attlee outside Transport House. Crowds in streets of London, running through streets waving flags, cheering, etc. Allied flags revolving to finish.
