Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Attlee & Bevin in Potsdam. DESCRIPTION: Within 48 hours of his election victory Mr Attlee was on his way to Berlin, accompanied by the new Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin. They were continuing the work begun by Mr Churchill at the Three Powers Conference at Potsdam. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. General ruins of Berlin. Mr & Mrs Bevin alight from car at aerodrome, Northolt. Bevin shakes hands with General Ismay, Mrs Attlee, Felicity & Alison stand around aerodrome, Attlee shake hands with Bevin. Attlee watch plane (Skymaster) leaving, RAF ground crew wave. AFU - At Gatow, Berlin airport, Bevin alights from plane, General Lyne greets Attlee, who is seen alighting. Attlee inspects Scots Guards (Guard of Honour), at No 10 Potsdam. AFU - Inside conference room, Bevin, Attlee, Stalin, Truman, Sir A Cadogan, Attlee & Bevin shake hands with numerous people. CU Stalin, Truman & Attlee, in background can be seen M Gusev, Admiral Leahy. Various shots of the above seated round conference table. Mr Byrnes also present.
