Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: United Nations Charter. DESCRIPTION: 50 United Nations have been working for eight weeks in San Francisco to produce a charter on which the future of world peace will depend. The signing of the charter was the climax of the Conference. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Aerial shot of San Francisco. Group shots of buildings decorated with flags, bunting, etc. Inside Opera House, reps. of countries applaud, listen to address by Lord Halifax who asks for standing vote. One by one delegates stand up to signify agreement. Signing the Charter, Dr Wellington Koo, signs for China, with zooms of "For China"; "For Russia"; "For the United States of America", etc. CU book, also of signatures, crowds applaud, Stettinius signs, afterwards shakes hands with President Truman. Truman addresses, making closing speech. Large doors of entrance open, crowds start to enter, words on the cover of the Charter superimposed over same, to finish.
