MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Copenhagen ‘Liberation’. DESCRIPTION: The capital of Denmark is also free and a great ovation greeted King Christian when he drove through the streets. The arrival of the Royal Navy at Copenhagen was another high spot. When Field Marshal Montgomery arrived he visited the harbour to see the German cruisers "Prince Eugen" and "Nurnberg" which had been taken there. SHOTLIST: Cut story - British Airborne troops through crowds. One shouldered - kissing. Mad crowds - waving - cheering, etc. King Christian drives through the streets to Parliament. Royal Navy at Copenhagen. Cruiser ‘Birmingham’ comes in and also can be seen the Cruiser ‘Dido’. Crowds at docks. British sailors come ashore. One signs autograph. Nazi Ensign. German Naval guard. Cruisers ‘Prince Eugen’ and ‘Nurnberg’ in docks. Montgomery in Copenhagen visits harbour. Inspects Marines. Standing in car. Germans leave, including women - march. Girl with picture of Montgomery. Monty drives through Copenhagen, standing in car. Cheering crowds and cars through same. Motor-cycle escort.
