- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Berlin - Capitulation Complete. DESCRIPTION: Air Chief Marshal Tedder and Marshal Zhukov accepted the surrender of Berlin on behalf of the Allies. The ceremony took place in the suburb of Karlshorst, in a building which once housed the Engineering College of the Wehrmacht. SHOTLIST: Cut story - On aerodrome (Tempelhof), ACM Tedder inspects Russian Guard of Honour, cut-ins of same in marchpast. Cut-ins of Tedder & Zhukov taking salute. Shots of British & Russian officers (groups) saluting. German officers, Field Marshal Keitel, General Admiral von Friedeburg, & Air Colonel General Stumph walk across aerodrome into camera. GV Engineering College, at Karlshorst, Berlin. Delegates enter. Interior shot of table. Zhukov & Tedder walk to seats. CU Zhukov. CU Tedder. CU Spaatz. German officers enter & sit down. CU Keitel. Keitel, with many officers round fumbling with papers, as he signed same. CU Zhukov signing. CU Tedder signing. After Germans had left Allied officers shake hands with one another. Outside, General de Lattre de Tassigny lights cigarette. Allied delegation looks at ruins of Berlin. Various shots, pans, etc. of completely ruined buildings, shells of buildings, razed to the ground. Shots of remains of Adlon Hotel, pan to Brandenburger Tor, which still stands.
