MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Thanksgiving for Victory. DESCRIPTION: A Thanksgiving Service for Victory was held in St Paul’s Cathedral and attended by the King, Queen and Princesses. Queen Mary also attended and received a warm welcome from Londoners on her return to the city. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Royal carriage en route, to Palace. Royal carriage arrives at Temple Bar, Lord Mayor, presents City Sword to King who touches same before continuing journey. Shots of open carriage passing through waving crowds; with the King & Queen are Princesses Elizabeth & Margaret. GV St Paul’s dome with two towers each side, tilt down to West door. Duchess of Kent arrives with her two children. Mr, Mrs & Mary Churchill arrive. Churchill raises top hat acknowledging crowds. Queen Mary arrives. Elevated shots of St Paul’s, shows Lord Mayor waiting on steps to receive Royal Party, carriage approaches. Down on ground again, King & Royal Party alight, fanfare played (silent). Royal Party ascend steps. Elevated shot of party entering Cathedral to finish.
