- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Strafing Tokyo. DESCRIPTION: In conjunction with the landings on Iwo Jima, American planes attacked Tokyo. They strafed and sunk many ships in Tokyo Bay. Airfields were also a priority to prevent planes joining the battle on for Iwo Jima. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Destroyer ploughing through heavy seas. Aircraft carrier at sea, high winds blowing, crew fight their way along decks against winds. Elevated shot of planes with wings folded fastened to flight deck. After storm, plane takes off & aerial shots of fighters in formation. Tracer bullets hitting shipping in Tokyo Bay. Jap plane explodes in mid-air after being hit by one of our planes. Aerial shot of Mount Fujiyama, aerials of factories, etc. being shot up. Also Jap planes on aerodromes being shot up, rockets on way down. Columns of smoke rises from burning planes.
