Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New V-Weapons & Air Kills. DESCRIPTION: Rockets are being developed as weapons of war, in America they have been test firing them from landing-craft. Britain has a large number of rocket-guns in action against enemy raiders and doodlebugs. The latest of the Hun’s giant flying-bombs is comparatively easy to deal with, recently five out of five were shot down by Mustangs of the US Eighth Air Force. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Trainload of rockets across aerodrome to plane (Typhoons). Rockets fitted under wings of plane. Plane in flight, fires rocket, camera follows rocket to target, shot of explosions. Rocket-ships, loaded, & at sea, off West Coast of America, various shots firing rockets, & hitting target (land). On land, shots of trucks, lorries, fitted with rocket firing equipment, firing, & hitting targets, also laying down what looks the equivalent to an artillery barrage. Rockets fired at night, various shots. In USA factory, manufacturing doodle-bugs, at experimental station, three shots of doodle-bugs being fired, they take-off, dropping launching platform at safe distance. Over Germany, aerial combat, German planes shot down. Strafing airfield, finishing on large explosion which fills the screen. (Between the doodlebug & the aerial combat - are shots of pick-a-back plane, Ju88 filled with HE & perched on top of same a FW190, various shots of same in flight, & the Ju88 after the FW190 has let go of its load.)
