Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Toward Goch. DESCRIPTION: United Kingdom and Canadian troops, continuing a steady advance, have overcome the weather, the floods, the Siegfried Line defences and the Hun himself. Monty made a round of inspections, seeing for himself the advances made. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various shots of self-propelled, Bofors, Vickers machine guns firing, rather laying down a barrage. Equipment & British infantry on road. Churchills, & Kangaroos move along road, one of a crew has a top-hat & umbrella, on the back of a Churchill is tied a chicken. Wrecked British tank, signpost Goch. Monty with General Simmonds in a duck [sic], shots of group: Monty, Simmonds, Brigadier Rockingham, & Brigadier Spragg. Monty in jeep caught in traffic jam, road blocked with equipment, Monty hands out papers, etc. while waiting for same to be cleared.
