Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: International Red Cross. DESCRIPTION: From it’s base in Geneva the International Red Cross continues to distribute parcels for prisoners of war and internees. It is a large operation with a vast filing system to ensure that every single captive gets a regular supply of essentials. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Red Cross ships at quayside Toulon, France, unloaded of cases of parcels for POWs. Some of the unloading being done by German prisoners. Lorry leaves quay, also train speeding along track (camera fixed to front of engine, you only see the track) fade to Geneva. Interior shots of warehouses showing stacks of Red X parcels. Various shots of Geneva, lit up by night, shots of shop windows with full lighting. MS of what goes in the parcels, & being packed. Interior shot of offices shows colossal filing system, & girls in attendance. Train-loads of parcels leaving for Germany shows various prison camp markings on side of goods trucks as same pass camera.
