- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Year Air Blitz. DESCRIPTION: Pictures have just been released of air blitz on Western Front airfields which the German’s carried out on News Year Day. Many planes were damaged on the ground but Allied fighters were quickly in the air inflicting damage on the Luftwaffe. SHOTLIST: Cut story - LS of airfield. Few fighters & fighter bomber in flight. Various shots of smashed Allied aircraft, Mitchells, etc. burning, or completely wrecked, firemen fighting the flames, including local firemen (in Holland & Belgium). Shot of antiquated fire engine. Aerial combat shows few German planes being shot up. One loses its wing, the pilot bales out. Spitfires take off from aerodrome. Tempest chases German plane, which is crashing to ground leaving trail. Various shots of wrecked & ruined German planes which were shot down in our territory. Various parts of ruined planes, wings, fuselages, etc.
