Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Shrinking Bulge. DESCRIPTION: Marauders of the US 9th Air Force have been assisting with the reduction of the Rundstedt salient, they have attacked supply centres at Wittlichm and a railway bridge over the Moselle. The "bulge" is shrinking fast, and if the Allies have not yet succeeded in winning a sensational victory, they have driven the Hun back. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS Aerial shot of Marauder in flight. Aerial shots of Marauders approaching target over Moselle River. Flying through flak, & in formation. Marauder receives direct hit (very good) wing breaks off, plane crashes towards ground. US 1st Army transport on move, Shermans move up through snow. Infantry pass through forest, also carry wounded. AFU - Elevated shot of the River Meuse. Sherman tanks move along streets, skidding about roadway. AFU - LS of terrain, mobile guns pounding enemy. Aerial shot of countryside. SCU Major General Taylor shaking hands with Brigadier General McAuliffe, in Bastogne. POWs march in groups through streets. Stationary tanks fire guns. Elevated shot of hits on houses.
