MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mud & Floods. DESCRIPTION: Rain and mud on the Fifth Army Front in Italy have produced appalling conditions, but in spite of everything the Allies have been battling on. SHOTLIST: Cut story - American troops on roads in Italy, wade through mud, transport stuck in same. In above town rushing waters caused by torrential rains. US troops endeavouring to dig mud away. Italian women walks through water up to her knees. Jeeps carries Italian children to their houses, cut-ins of people watching from windows. More shots of transport crawling along muddy roads, including six-wheeled lorries.
