MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Shirley Ross’s Wonderful Feet. DESCRIPTION: Australian, Shirley Ross, was stricken by infantile paralysis and from the age of three lost the use of her hands. Amazingly she can now use her toes to do many things her fingers would, she even makes her own frocks. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. S Ross seated in chair. Using her feet as hands, as she has suffered from infantile paralysis since three years old. Takes match from box, strikes same & lights cigarette for friend. Wraps magazine into a parcel. Using a sewing machine. Ironing dresses, also mending connections of electric iron, threads needle. Finishes on making speech (CU of her) telling soldiers who lose use of their arms etc. not to give up.
