MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Sudden Death of Wendell Wilkie. DESCRIPTION: The sudden and tragic death of Wendell Wilkie, is a grave loss not only to his country, but also to his countless friends in Britain. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU Wendell Wilkie. CU Wendell Wilkie. Travelling shot of Wilkie driving the cheering crowds somewhere in America. Wilkie is standing up in car acknowledging crowds. In London, Wilkie in tin-helmet visits Air Raid Shelter. Talks (silent) with shelterers. Walking over ruins of parts of London, MS of Wilkie at Guildhall, which can be seen in background, in ruins. Back in America, Wilkie acknowledges cheers of crowd (interior shot), then makes a speech "about freedom". All the preceding is Library material. Also shot of Wilkie leaving No 10 Downing Street, shakes hands with Mr Churchill. MS of both.
