Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Le Havre Surrenders. DESCRIPTION: The end of the battle for Le Havre came remarkably swiftly, after a magnificently planned operation lasting some thirty-six hours. The German garrison surrendered after their Commander had been wounded. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV of battleground, & bombs exploding in background. Lancasters in flight. Various shots of indicators (masses) falling. Various shots of bombing, Lancasters fly through flak. AFU - Masses of Churchills wait in woods before attack, various shots of move also shots of Crocodiles (Churchill with trailer) GV of battlefield, flame throwing LS. Canadian infantry advance over fields. Infantry enter town, GVs of Le Havre, & of ruins of same. Various shots of prisoners marching through streets, including naval prisoners. Prisoners into camera, all smiles, out of camera down road to finish.
