- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Paris. DESCRIPTION: Four years ago the Germans marched into Paris but now the Allies move nearer to ousting them and restoring the city to the French. In this film we look at Pre-war Paris, the gay city of Europe. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Library Material - KS. GV Paris. Various shots of burning & collapsing buildings. German march past Arc de Triomphe. More burning buildings etc. Skeletons of buildings. Pan down, to children being given food. Various shots of Germans marching through Paris. Pre war days in Paris, children in fairground, on swings etc. Elevated shots of Seine boulevards, Paris illuminated at night, people dance in back-streets on St Catherine’s Day, more night illuminations. King George & Queen Elizabeth in France, entertained by President, watch ballet dancing, GV ballet dancing. Pan down from roof of Palace to King & Queen being introduced to celebrities of Paris. GV of crowds eating, King & Queen amongst them. Statue of Joan of Arc, back to today, British troops march through villages, French girl gives them cherries, small groups wave, cheer etc. Troops marching, music over same is "All’s Well, Mademoiselle". Various shots of American troops in towns, mingling with civilians, dancing in streets etc. Shots of French troops marching six abreast, fade in to German soldiers (reverse camera) marching backwards past the Arc de Triomphe, fade to French troops marching past camera to finish.
