Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King & Queen Visit Army (Land) Camp & AA Battery. DESCRIPTION: The King and Queen recently visited an Agricultural Camp in the Home Counties where they talked to the volunteers and enjoyed tea with them. Their Majesties also visited an Ack-ack site and saw them tackling flying bombs. They have also recently visited a Fighter Station where the King held an Investiture. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Group shot of K&Q with Duke of Norfolk - KS. K&Q out of car greeted by Duke of Norfolk. Group K&Q with Norfolk & McCullough. Bulldozers clear land of trees etc. Shots of K&Q talking with girls working on farm. Girls hoeing. Interior K&Q seated at canteen table eating with rest of farm labourers. At another location King & Queen walk past ruins caused by "Doodlebugs". King shakes hands with Warden. At AA side K&Q with General Pile watch battery firing at "Doodlebug" guns firing & fast loading, cut-in of "Doodlebugs" in flight. At aerodrome King presents medals to various RAF personnel, one being PL Donkin with DSO, also there was Group Captain Cunningham (Cats-eyes) with bar to DSO. Peter Townsend can be seen in RAF section?
