- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Family Visit RAF & USAAF Airfields. DESCRIPTION: The King, Queen and Princess Elizabeth recently visited four Royal Air Force Bomber Command Stations. At each station the King held an investiture. At an 8th United States Army Air Force station the Princess christened one of the Forts "Rose of York". SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Queen followed by King out of car. Waiting on aerodrome several RAF officers, shake hands with K&Q also with Princess Elizabeth. Group walk over to Lancaster being bombed up with 8,000lb bombs. Inside hangar King holds investiture, several close-ups of presentations, recipients unnamed. Various shots of K&Q & Princess Elizabeth talking informally to RAF personnel gathered round same. GV of US flag pan down to US aerodrome & arrival of Royal Party, greeted by General Doolittle, who introduces same to several US officers. Princess Elizabeth (with bouquet of roses) christens Flying Fortress "Rose of York". Princess Elizabeth shakes hands with crew of plane, other shots show her shaking hands with crew of plane, other shots show her shaking hands with other air crews just before going off on mission, in background. FF "Four of a Kind". Queen with American officer, looking up at sky, cut-in of Flying Fortresses returning from mission to Pas de Calais.
